about

Guitar, u-he Zebra, field recordings, various effects - Made using UbuntuStudio...
This piece started off as a set of two melodic ambient guitar "themes". The first theme was copied three times. One copy was left "as is", one was slowed down by 50% and one was fed through a 24 second feedback delay, then through a 32 second feedback delay. We then added three copies of a "burning iceberg" field recording by batchku (made available through the FreeSound Project). One was slowed by 75% and two were slowed by 50%, then off-set. Next we added a short track of guitar noise and feedback toward the end of the piece. We then added a set of u-he Zebra drones/textures to tie everything together. Finally we added a short extract of the second guitar theme to draw the piece to an end. This consisted of two copies - one left "as is" and one fed through a 17 second feedback delay, then through a 22 second feedback delay.
